Altar Guild
The ALTAR GUILD MINISTRY is a behind-the-scenes ministry vital to our celebration of the Lord’s Supper!
- Ages:
- High School through Adult
- Newcomers welcome!
- Training Provided
- Purpose:
- To glorify God through care, keeping, and preparation of the chancel (altar area)
- Qualifications Include:
- Follows procedures – methodical & thorough
- Enjoys helping others
- Appreciates order and cleanliness
- Responsibilities Include:
- Prepares the communion elements for worship and cleans them up afterwards
- Changes the altar cloths as needed
- Cares for pastoral robes
- Maintains the altar candles
- Works with Aesthetics to maintain a clean environment in the chancel
- Assists Aesthetics, as needed, with flowers & decorations in the chancel
- Other duties as assigned
- Ideal For:
- Those who value the Sacrament of Holy Communion.
- Those who desire to provide “behind the scenes” help.
- Couples enjoy doing this together; but it also is a good ministry for anyone!
