Women’s Ministry
Mission Statement:
Resurrection Women In Ministry (RWIM) is an organization that seeks to develop and maintain a greater mission awareness among the women of Resurrection Lutheran Church, provide opportunities for spiritual growth and christian fellowship, gather funds for mission grants, and assist Resurrection in its ministry to build the Kingdom of God as a Christian Community that:

Funding Mission Grants With “Mites”
In the Bible, Luke 21:1-4, is the observation given by Jesus to his disciples of people bringing their gifts to the temple treasury. Jesus noted that a poor widow put in her gift of two small coins (mites) which in her poverty was all she had to live on and which was “more than all the others had given.”
RWIM members use “mite” boxes to collect coins (or any denomination of currency, including checks) which are gathered at weekly Bible study, combined and sent to the Texas District LWML. Texas District forwards 25% of the total collected to the national LWML organization. Both organizations have a two-year list of specific mission grants for selected projects. RWIM has averaged $1,000 (+/-) a year in mites. All congregation members are welcome and encouraged to be “mite” contributors as well. RWIM also collects mites on the first Sunday of each month in the large mite box near the Information Center
The Resurrection Women’s Ministry is a loving, caring, group that conducts or is active in:
- Bible Study classes and fellowship on Tuesday mornings at 9:15 AM in Fellowship Hall I (brief meetings may be held after class) and on the 1st and 3rd Monday evenings at 7 PM. Check with the Church office for current schedules during holidays and summer months.

- Spring Luncheon
We give financial support to:
- Bethesda Good Samaritan Home for the Developmentally Disabled (direct financial contributions and collection of Campbell Foods labels)
- Concordia Seminary (student sponsorship or the seminary food bank)
- Brigid’s Hope (a women’s prison rehabilitation program)
- Kairos Prison Ministry (inmate sponsorship)
- Northwest Assistance Ministries (NAM)
- Abused Women
- Pregnancy Assistance Center
