The Web Ministry assists in the dissimination of church information to the congregation and, more importantly, assists in the execution of the Great Commission by dissiminating His message worldwide. We strive for a continuously improving, asthetically pleasing, informative site that is constantly updated and optimized for the widest possible reach. We hope you find it useful and encourage your friends to utilize the tools and information available here.
We are always looking for interested members with the following gifts:
- PHP Programming
- Flash Programming
- Graphics Gurus (Photoshop, Fireworks, etc.)
- MySQL Database knowledge
- Anyone tech savy who thinks they would like to help us in this effort
- Photography (someone with a quality digital camera who can take pictures for us.)
- Anyone with experience working with Wordpress.

The web team has spent quite a bit of time over the past year working hard to ensure that this website’s efforts have not been wasted. Search engine optimization is key to our church because we must take advantage of the free services available to us in search engines. In other words, we must be found.
Here is how we rank on searches of Google as of February 21, 2008. We are search result:
- 1 for “church spring tx”, “resurrection lutheran church”
- 27 for “lutheran church texas”
- 33 for “spring tx”
- 41 for “lutheran church”
Our site has been given a Google page rank of 4/10.
We have averaged 80 visitors/day for the last 30 days.
We have some paid advertising (about $50.00/month worth) that is bringing in 10% of the traffic to the site.
New Site Changes

A little explanation for what is going on with the new church website (for the closet geeks amongst us)…
This update was due. The old site (still available, by the way, at http://rlchome.org) was based on an open source software project called XOOPS. This project’s days are numbered because of bickering between the lead programmers and slow progress of updates. This did not bode well for the future of our large site. It was also hard for a novice to keep the site updated.
I made the decision to switch us over to Wordpress 2.3. this open source project is thriving and growing. They have done some cool things in the last couple of years to make it easy to manipulate and modify. the best part is, almost all of the modifications are to the theme files, not the root of the software. So, I took a fairly simple theme, and starting hacking into it. What resulted is a custom Resurrection solution that I hope can last us for several years.

As you might have noticed, our website has recently undergone a change in appearance. The appearance might be different, but the way the site functions will remain much the same. This change will not effect your username and password.
The reason for this change was to ensure that we could keep a quality site for years to come. We hope to continue to give you access to all of the information that is available as soon as it is available in an easy to find, user friendly way. Thanks for your patience.
