International Mission Trips

2008 INTERNATIONAL SERVANT TEAMS

The International Mission Team Servant Events for next summer have been set.  In the past we have scheduled two Teams with one organization to one location.  Basically, the past five summers, we have served with The Mobility Project or Push, International in either Mazatlan, Mexico or San Salvador, El Salvador.

In 2008, we will be serving with both of these organizations and C.A. Outreach Ministries.  In addition to serving with three organizations, we will be serving in three different locations, giving us exposure to a variety of people groups and serving opportunities.

This is now a time to pray about the Lord’s guidance for you to serve on one of our Resurrection Acts 1:8 Missions (RAM) International Servant Teams in the summer of 2008.  Following is a brief overview of the three summer opportunities.

JUNE TEAM—with PUSH, International to Mazatlan, Mexico—June 21-28.info_sheet-intntl-june.pdf
This is the Pacific coastal city we’ve served the past two years and will again include meaningful interaction at Push home base and refurbishing center with Padres y Compadres staff and children (physical therapy center) and neighborhood children, wheelchair distributions, serving with the Children’s Feeding Centers, food and clothing distributions, and prison ministry; as well as opportunities to share the Gospel through mime skits and music in various colonias (neighborhoods) and churches with Pastor Carlos and Pastor Daniel.

JULY TEAM—with The Mobility Project to Mazahua Mission, Mexico—July 19-26.info_sheet-intntl-july.pdf
While we have served with TMP over the years, this will be our first trip to Mazahua Mission (built in 1718 in a mountainous area about 2 ½ hours northwest of Mexico City).  Mazahua is located at almost 10,000 ft. elevation so a July trip will be very cool, but the altitude may challenge some.  Here we will have opportunities for wheelchair distributions at the Mission site and in local communities, serve with local churches through community outreaches and worship (utilizing our mime skits and music), light construction and/or painting, prison ministry and interaction with local children and adults.

AUGUST TEAM—with C.A. Outreach Ministries to Belize City, Belize—August 9-16.info_sheet-intntl-august.pdf
C.A. Outreach Ministries is operated by John & Judy Collier.  (Judy served as Music Director at Resurrection in the early 90’s.)  Belize is in Central America on the Caribbean coast bounded by Mexico and Guatemala.  This is our first time to serve with CAOM.  This tiny nation has many languages spoken, but English is the national language.  John has worked excellent relations with local and national governments and organizations to help provide improved lives for many in Belize.  Our Team will serve in some of these settings where John has worked to establish churches and trade schools.  The final details of this trip are yet to be completed, but we will have excellent opportunities to interact and work with locals, share the Gospel and bring meaningful enhancement to Belizean people.

Please pick up the one-page handout on each of these Servant Teams, read over the details, pray for God’s clear direction, and sign up if so moved by January 20th.  The Teams are limited to 20 servants this year.  As in the past, servants can be as young as 6th graders who are willing to work, when accompanied by a parent/guardian, and we’ve had servants up to 82 years young!

Our Orientation will be Monday, January 28th at 6:30pm in the Fellowship Hall.

Team Training is required and will be March through June for an hour on various Monday evenings.

If you have questions please contact Pastor Ric or Pastor Steve, we will be very pleased to discuss these opportunities with you.

Also, watch for information on RAM 2008 Local Servant Teams.

May the Lord bless you in the servant roles in your daily life—bringing God’s love in Christ to those you encounter everyday!
