Pastor Ric McMillian

I was born in Houston, Texas, November 18, 1946; attended Burbank Elementary, Aldine Jr and Sr High Schools, the University of Houston, Concordia University—Austin, and Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, Indiana. I received the Master of Divinity degree from the seminary.

I worked in mechanical engineering in Houston for companies that manufactured oil production equipment (Gray Tool Co., TRW Mission Mfg. Co., and FMC Petroleum Equipment Group R&D) from 1965 through 1979 and served in the U.S. Navy Reserve from 1965 through 1971.

I married Leslie Pecht on July 9, 1966 and we lived in Maryland and Japan while I was on active duty in the Navy. Leslie and I grew up in the same small church in Houston and have known each other all our lives. We have four children and six grandchildren.

I was ordained into the pastoral ministry in 1985. My first call was to the Mission Board of the Texas District of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (LC-MS) to serve as Mission Planter, starting a church in the far north Dallas area by going door-to-door and organizing outreach events. That was the beginning of Lord of Life Lutheran Church of Plano, Texas. I served there thirteen years, followed by accepting a call to the Mission Board of the Mid-South District of the LC-MS to serve as Mission Planter in Conway, Arkansas in 1998. That congregation is now St. Matthew Lutheran Church. While in Conway I also served concurrently for one year at Peace Lutheran Church as Vacancy Pastor.

In February 2002, I accepted my present call to serve the Lord at Resurrection Lutheran Church, Spring, Texas as Associate Pastor / Director of Leadership Development. My role includes supervision of all Executive Staff, Adult Education / Discipleship, Missions, Outreach, and Fellowship.

It continues to be a privilege for me to serve the Lord in His Church. May God richly bless our time together at Resurrection!
