Celebration and Worship Ministries
The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts;
and though all its parts are many, they form one body.
So it is with Christ. 1 Corinthians 12:12 (NIV)

The Celebration Ministries of Resurrection Lutheran Church is 1 Corinthians 12:12 in action. Much like the body is made up of different parts working together as a unit, this wide array of ministries all work independently as well as together to help corporate worship take place in a God-pleasing and meaningful way. As worship is not static and as God’s Spirit continues to show us additional ways we can glorify Him, new ministries continue to develop.

The Director of Celebration primarily is responsible for the development of corporate worship services, for coordinating all facets of the worship service, for overseeing all Celebration Ministries, and for providing leadership, mentoring, training, support, and encouragement for Celebration Ministry leaders

Acolyte Ministry
Open to those 5th grade through adult, the Acolyte Ministry glorifies God by assisting with worship through lighting candles, assisting with processions/recessions of the cross, assisting with Holy Communion and other duties as assigned.

Aesthetics’ Ministries
People involved in the Aesthetics’ Ministries have a passion and heart for beauty and a desire to provide a pleasing atmosphere in which God’s people can worship. The Aesthetics’ Ministries are comprised of the Banner Ministry, Decorations Ministry, and the Flower Ministry.

Altar Guild Ministry
The Altar Guild Ministry is a behind-the-scenes ministry vital to our celebration of the Lord’s Supper. They prepare the communion elements for worship, change the altar cloths as needed, care for pastoral robes, maintain the altar candles, help maintain a clean environment in the chancel area and other duties as needed.

GRACE Ministries
GRACE stands for “Giving the Redeemer Adoration through Celebration Enhancement.” GRACE ministries are designed to enhance our worship by involving more people and by adding a special touch to our worship services. Current ministries include: Lay Readers’ Ministry and the Worship Enhancement Team.
Lay Readers’ Ministry
The Lay Readers’ Ministry is made up of people who love God’s Word, love to read it, and desire to share it publicly.
Worship Enhancement Team
The Worship Enhancement Team provides sensory aids to help communicate the message/theme to the worshipers.

Usher Ministry
The Usher Ministry is a helping-hands ministry, ready to assist the worshiper and worship leader so that worship is as meaningful and distraction-free as possible. Duties include handing out bulletins with a smile, assisting with seating, completing a head count of those attending, assisting with communion, collecting the offering, preventing distractions, assisting with emergencies and other duties as needed.

Wedding Ministry
The Wedding Ministry assists couples and their families in planning and coordinating weddings at Resurrection.

Fine Arts’ Ministries
The goal of our Fine Arts’ Ministries is to celebrate our unity as well as our diversity. Therefore, we strive for groups that can include a broad range of people (unity), as well as groups that are more specific to age, gender, skill level, and music genre (diversity).  Opportunities for involvement: please see Performing Arts under Ministries.

Concerts and Events at Resurrection are scheduled to provide a service to our church and community, as well as to provide visibility of our church to the surrounding area.
