Want to make new friends?
Getting older? Empty nester?
Feeling a bit lonely and blue?
Come laugh with Resurrection’s L.A.F.F. Group. (That stands for Lutherans After Fifty Fellowship) L.A.F.F. is a group of adult Christians dedicated to helping others form new friendships and grow stronger in care and concern for one another through shared leisure activities and adventures.
All adult members, visitors & friends of Resurrection, both married and single, are invited to join us in our activities and adventures. However, only those who are fifty+ in age or married to someone fifty+ qualify to ride the Harris County Precinct 4 bus that provides free transportation for all our travel needs. Underage participants can, and often do, carpool behind the bus to our destinations.
No formal enrollment to be a part of our group. Just watch for the announcements in the church newsletter and bulletin and sign up for any event in which you’d like to participate. Flyers for each event announced are available at the information booth in the narthex of the sanctuary at least one month before the event.

“Seekers” is an adult fellowship and Bible Study group that meets the first and third Sunday evenings of each month, October through May (with the exception of December when we celebrate the Christmas season with a fellowship event.) Resurrection members, as well as visitors and friends of Resurrection are invited to participate. This group is sponsored by Resurrection’s Seniors (50+) Ministry but adults of all ages are invited to participate because our topics are of interest to everyone.
We meet in Fellowship l at Resurrection at 6:00 PM for a potluck supper. Topic presentation & Bible Study begins at 6:45 PM until 8:00 PM. No formal enrollment; just show up with a dish to share, Bible, notebook and pencil. Individuals who do not want to participate in the meal are welcome to come to only the program portion of the evening.
“SEEKERS IN TOUCH…” is the title of our current fellowship. We are addressing a number of contemporary moral and ethical issues and dilemmas that perplex us all, always seeking God’s Will through His Word in dealing with these problems. Individual titles for each Sunday’s topic of discussion are announced regularly in both the Church Newsletter and Sunday Bulletin. This year we continue to investigate and discuss "hot" topics that are being debated in our society. Multi-media presentations, including live speakers, will be used. Some of the material will cover Global Warming debates, Health Care issues, Life-Altering experiences, God's Finger in our world, and Make-Overs of the Spiritual kind. Our goal is always to seek God's mind on these issues and make a positive difference through our lives.
We always begin the year each fall with a September kickoff party and information night at Terra Nova Clubhouse. This is when we announce the topics and plans for the rest of the year. Watch the Church Newsletter and Sunday Bulletins for more information and come out for a fun evening with some new friends.
